burton albion 0 - 0 manchester united and other man utd updates
hmm.. united seems to be jinxed agst non-league sides.. in the 4 matches that united has played in the whole club history in the FA cup, they have always drawn and winning only in the replay.. sigh..
burton was good i guess.. esp the keeper.. saul deeney.. or sth like that..
united only had 3 regulars in the team, brown, silvestre and o'shea.. the rest were richardson, bardsley(whoz my man of the match, saved united on several occasions and had a few good shots on goal), pique(whom i think is a bright spark, great strong defender), ritchie jones(great shot in the dying mins that shld have gone in, only for it to be miraculously saved by the keeper), rossi(who think needs to get stronger coz he gets pushed off the ball quite easily), saha(his first few starts since he came back), howard(who didnt really have anyth to do), and of course who else but ole gunnar solskjaer.. hahahaa.. :D
it was great to see him run out onto the field, and wearing the captainz armband nonetheless.. seriously the old one on the pitch at 32, with his team mates all under the age of 27.. haha.. he conjured some nice moves, collaborating w bardsley really well on the right.. hez still some way to match fitness.. but im not worrying too much.. im sure i'll see him back to his old self real soon.. :D
the pitch was really bad.. alot more dirt than grass.. the ball doesnt even roll properly on the ground.. it bounces alot.. example, a long cross that howard passed, bounced backwards then rolled forward when it landed.. it certainly gave the burton players those few seconds to close united down.. oh well.. im not worrying too much, coz the team that was played today was young and not as experienced.. and i doubt they can win at old trafford.. no worries.. it was a clean sheet, as it shld be agst a non-league club.. (:
united completed the signing of another defender, a left-back specifically.. his name, Patrice Evra, from AS Monaco for 5million pounds.. not too bad.. haha.. the great players of united have always been the cheap ones.. like roy keane, solskjaer, peter schmeichel, the whole class of 92' and the current crop of youngsters that have come thru the ranks, alan smith, new signing vidic was cheap and is part of the euro fantastic four.. and now evra.. (: sweet.. the expensive ones were always the flops like veron(28million), and kleb(15million).. thank goodness for exceptions like rooney(close to 30million) and ronaldo(12million for a then unknown kid was steep).. well, reinforcements in the team is nothing but good for them in the long run..
