the BIG nite at victoria.. for the kids at least..

the day started super early for me.. woke up at 6.30.. and left the hse at 7 to meet nigel for breakfast at 7.30 at bb mac.. reached there ard 7.35 but he wasnt there.. got a msg that he wld be 10mins late.. 7.45 hez still not there.. he calls me and tells me that he cant get a cab.. we decided that i wld buy breakfast and he wld pick me up in his cab.. 8.05 im still waiting outside mac w 2 breakfast meals in hand.. i get another call and nigel apparantly still cant get a cab.. he tells me that i shld go to sch first and that he'll meet us in sch.. if not at victoria.. haha.. im like laughing loh.. so much for breakfast i thought.. haha..

so im in sch.. n the first person i meet is kaizha and shez like so excitied to see me.. so i sat at her table in the canteen.. and this entire grp of girls start surrounding me.. haha.. i ended up teling them abt the whole 'breakfast' story.. and they started looking at my breakfast... hahah.. i let them share my ice milo.. and let them have my hash brown aft i had like 2 bites.. cant believe im so nice.. haha.. ms sim comes and i believe she liked my red hot skirt.. hhahaha.. thane arrives and juz walks past the table where i was lah.. totally didnt see me.. haha.. she said it was the girls ard me.. haha..

anywayz.. on the bus.. sarah saved a seat for me.. how cool.. haha.. i was a bit crazy lah.. kept laughing for no good reason.. yi xiang and the father were behind me blasting a radio.. sarah sat infront listening to her dicsman.. btw.. all the cds she has are like burned or pirated lah.. haha.. how terrible.. i eventually became really tired and had a little shut eye.. but like 10mins from vic.. i got energized again.. haha.. taught the girls to sing the never ending song.. haha.. u know.. 'this is the song that never ends.. and it goes on and on my fren.. some people started singing it not knowing what it was.. and they'll continue singing it forever juz bcz..' and it repeats.. haha..

reached vic.. and we stream into the audi.. we sat in the audience cz the teachers werent there yet to get the children in the dressing rooms.. certain scenes were practiced and stuff.. and then i got a call msg from jialing to ask if i got a ticket for her.. haha.. i totally panicked manz.. then almost immediately i got a call from jeremy that malorie didnt want her ticket.. so jialingz ticket was settled.. then the teachers came and the kids were ushered to their rooms.. we had our bags outside the dressing rooms on the table and the table also became our gathering area for the time being.. they had rehearsal in their sch u.. and the four of us sat in the audience to watch till it reached our scenes.. then we had lunch.. chicken rice and tasteless chilli aGAin.. haha.. the kids were having make-up done while having lunch.. and getting their hair done and so on so forth.. nigel had his make-up done aft lunch.. jules, thane and i stood ard him and the make-up artist advising her on wat colours to put on for him to look scary and stuff.. his make-up turned out really cool with the help of the three of us.. :D esp loved the black lipstick.. haha..

by then it was already 2.30.. half an hr to the matinee.. the kids seemed pretty cool abt it.. and the show begins at 3.. everything seems to go well.. had tea break in between.. this time it was a curry pastry, egg sandwich and a butter cake.. didnt like the butter cake tho.. too buttery.. haha.. then before u knew it.. the matineez over.. and ms sim has a debrief.. then i got a msg from ash and weisheng that he wanted to come.. i was like wth.. went to ms sim to ask if she cld get me another ticket.. she told me mrs lynn chong was in charge and i cld approach her.. it was already 6pm.. i went to the foyer to meet mrs chong.. and i managed to get a ticket for sheng tho the 4 werent sitting together.. had to spilt them 2 2.. so relieved manz.. (btw ms sim.. i still owe u 80bucks for the tickets.. remind me the next time i see u kz..) backstage during the little time we had.. i got the girls to teach me the steps for the finale.. itz really cool when they do it together.. sweet.. haha..

anywayz.. itz dinner and touch ups for the kids from 6 to ard 7.30.. for some reason i didnt really had an appetite.. barely ate.. the count dwn to the nite show begins.. this was when the kids started to get nervous.. haha.. it was quite funny.. haha.. i mean aftall they did the matinee.. haha.. i guess it was the different audience.. at ard 7.. i met dajie outside to pass her the tickets.. and i was waiting for ash and the rest.. and ash msged to ask if i cld pay for his cab fee.. haha.. he now owes me 28bucks for the tickets and cab fee.. hez so funny.. came in a tee and a jacket.. real sweet.. :D and sheng came too.. in like a shirt.. haha.. i joked that they arranged that one was to wear the shirt and the other the jacket.. haha.. then amanda and jialing came too.. mandaz mum was with her and it was amazing manz.. her mum rmbed our names..! super cool!! haha.. and so i sneaked them backstage and almost got scolded manz.. so the 8pm show begins.. :D

interestingly.. the kids told me they were nervous.. i guess the nite showz always more real with parents and impt pepz attending.. and so it begins.. sadly.. the first few lines kaizha had, many cldnt hear.. the mic she was using wasnt working.. i was like crap.. u cld see the teachers scrambling to see if they cld fix the prob.. they managed to rush a mic to her juz as she started her song.. *whew*.. it seemed kaizha kept having mic probs.. later on when she danced with the mice.. her mic dropped.. bleah.. haha.. during the intermission.. a few things happened.. interesting how many things can happen in 20minutes..

i was msging backstage beside the mirror juz somewhere outside the boys dressing room when rizki came and asked if i wanted a drink.. i said why? u wanna get one for me? he laughed and said no lah.. u go buy urself.. haha.. i gave him the 'hehe-u-think-itz-funny-so-i'll-juz-smile-along-w-u kinda look'.. then he said with a more serious tone.. 'no really, u want sth to drink? i told him if hez gonna get a drink, he cld get one for me too.. so he says ok.. u wait here.. and he goes down to the 'canteen' and got a bottle of water for me.. how sweet rite.. haha.. how charming.. *grin*

the other thing that happened was that when i went outside to catch my sister.. when i met ms florence tan by chance.. hehe.. she caught me at the entrance.. i was so surprised to see her.. i told her she lost weight and she told me our journey of hope was better.. haha.. other than that we caught up w each otherz life a little.. and then it was back to backstage for me..

my fish scene was soon aft the return.. and this time we had all 8fishes.. i wanna see on the dvd how the fishys looked.. itz actually quite cool w the neon lights and all.. haha.. im glad even tho itz juz fish, itz a part to play to make the kids' show a success.. :D itz alwayz nice to be part of sth this big.. and sth that brings back memories i treasure deeply.. i want these kids to have the same great memories of their own too.. :)

thought the kids did great.. making the audiences laugh.. the audience also clapped aft every dance.. my sisters were thoroughly impressed.. esp with squeak.. haha.. as my eldest sis put it.. "itz as tho hez been a mouse his whole life" haha.. kudos went to salif too for his singing and his handsome looks.. who can resist rite.. haha.. during the whole musical, i sat sidestage with sarah who shared secrets w me.. how nice that ive bonded w the kids aft juz aft spending a few days with them.. really really nice.. :) i also caught rizki sidestage before one of his scenes and he was really quiet.. i asked why are u so quiet today? he said nothing lah.. he told me itz juz that itz tiring.. i replied.. but itz fun rite.. :) he juz cocked his head with somewhat a smile.. (btw.. itz really cute when he starts singing simple plan's welcome to my life.. he seems to enjoy entertaining people coz he spontateously juz sang to me and only me once.. :) sweet rite.. haha..) and so the show ends with a great applause.. the kids are all glowing with adrenaline.. in the dressing room i changed to my red skirt and congratulated them with hugs all ard.. told them i wld go back to keming and see them sometime.. then i went out to meet my sisters.. they were in the foyer talking to ms yee, who taught my eldest sis when she was 8.. my sis hasnt seen her in 14 years.. amazing huh.. haha..

caught hamzah aka squeak in the foyer.. went up to tell him that he did a good job.. then my elder sis took a photo of us two.. :) then tasmeen and salif appeared too and i managed to get a photo with two of them too.. when i introed and he saw my sis.. he asked.. "thatz ur jie?" i said yar.. he said "so small" hahaha.. sad case..

leaving victoria.. i was totally hyped still.. backstage at victoria alwayz juz gives u the chills.. someth u cant get to experience anywhere else.. being at victoria literally floods memories back for us 4 who helped out.. u cld find us in conversation abt what went on and what we did almost 4 and 1/2 years ago..

i hope this wont be ms simz last coz i wanna help out again.. mayb when we're all older.. we can all come back and partner ms sim to create one.. hahaha.. call it journey back into the past.. hahahahha.. asher complained why ms sim didnt call him to help.. haha.. and sheng too.. haha.. cute guys.. im sure ms sim wld have plenty of help if u contact more of us.. and wat a reunion it wld be.. u cld create a whole scene with juz us pioneers.. haha..

managed to get everybodyz contact be it their emails or handfone number(shauny asked for mine which was a surprise.. haha.. how cute..).. hope to talk to them online.. and mayb have lunch with the bunch of them in future.. hope to see them soon.. :) and i think this post is wAY too lONg already.. so i better stop now.. haha.. :D
